This summer, Humanisterna Syd participated in three Pride parades. A dozen of our members joined us in the largest-ever Malmö Pride parade, joined by our friends in Vetenskap och Folkbildning. The days before, two of us walked the Karlskrona Pride parade, and we also volunteered to support the first-ever Sölvesborg Pride.
Pride is supported by the global humanist movement, to celebrate diversity and to show our support for everyone’s right to live their life. Sadly, this basic human right is under violent attack around the world. The Karlskrona parade started with a moment of silence to commemorate the victims shot in an Oslo bar just a few days before, leading to a cancellation of Oslo Pride. The situation is even worse in many other parts of the world. Luckily, the Swedish events had no major issues. See you again next year!
